Huge Cast Updates: Rousey, Osment, and More

Last week was a huge week for Entourage movie news. On Tuesday, the project’s cast and crew returned to the west coast to begin their long stretch of Los Angeles filming. Around the same time, several talent deals were finalized, locking in large roles for several performers – most of them brand new to the franchise.

Doug Ellin was excited to announce that Scott Mescudi had officially joined the Entourage cast on Thursday. Scott rose to fame as a hip-hop artist performing under the moniker Kid Cudi. He jump-started his acting career in 2010 after guest appearing on “One Tree Hill” and landing a starring role in HBO’s “How to Make it in America.” Before his debut in the Entourage movie, Scott will appear alongside Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul (Jesse Pinkman) in the big-screen adaptation of the “Need for Speed” video game series, which will hit theaters next month.

Let’s hope Kid Cudi has some thick skin. He’ll be playing the part of Ari Gold’s assistant.

Just a couple of days before the Mescudi announcement, it was revealed that Haley Joel Osment had signed on to the project as well. Osment, who got his start in the acting business at a much younger age, should be a familiar face to many. He played the part of David in “A.I. Artificial Intelligence” and starred alongside Bruce Willis in 1999’s “The Sixth Sense.”

We had mentioned that Billy Bob Thronton was cast as a film investor in our previous update. Osment will assume the role of his son, who is rumored to play a very significant part in the film’s main story arc.

And Mr. Ellin was quick to express his delight after Ronda Rousey’s quick KO of Sara McMann in this weekend’s UFC 170 event. Ronda has nabbed one of the movie’s leading female roles and less time in the ring probably equates to less time in the makeup chair on set.

Even Ronda is no stranger to the acting business. She was previously cast in “Fast & Furious 7” as well as the third installment of “The Expendables.” Unfortunately, details about her role in this film are sparse at the moment.

Not enough casting news for you? Good. Doug also confirmed that Emmanuelle Chriqui will be returning.

Okay. Now we’re done.
